Article summary

Overview

Once all data is entered into Client Onboarder for a new client and it is approved by the assigned onboarding engineer and manager, the client record is ready to be exported into IT Glue as a new organization.

The integration between Client Onboarder and IT Glue is a one way export. An IT Glue organization is created consisting of all its related data from Client Onboarder, however once created, there are no updates or deletes performed on the newly created IT Glue organization from the Client Onboarder integration. Also, no existing IT Glue organizations are queried, updated or deleted from the Client Onboarder integration.

IT Glue Export dialog

The IT Glue Export dialog in Client Onboarder allows for the selection of organization Type (Customer, Vendor, etc.) and Status (Active, Inactive). It also shows a list of Vendor contacts and Makes/Models that will be created, encouraging users to check the spelling* of each...especially for makes/models as they are shared across IT Glue organizations. In addition, the makes/models list will include existing IT Glue makes/models (in a grayed out font) at the bottom of the list, for reference purposes only.

(* if there are any errant Vendor or Makes/Models entries they can be resolved afterward in IT Glue, however it is best to export data as pristine as possible. For higher tiers, a virtual AI assistant will be available to help with this process)

Post Export – Data Retention

After the export to IT Glue has been processed, the source data from Client Onboarder will be automatically removed once the tier-defined retention period has lapsed. However there will remain a record of all exported clients for reporting and historical purposes. Also before exported clients are automatically removed, client data can be manually downloaded into Json, CSV, and Excel file formats if desired.
