Overview

Client Onboarder streamlines the process of bringing in new clients to MSPs by walking users through the process of gathering information from clients and prior MSPs using a largely wizard driven approach. The three parties involved are the New MSP, their new Client, and the new client’s Current MSP.

New MSP

The new MSP begins the onboarding process by creating a new client record, and entering point of contact information. This phase is referred to as Sales and on completion goes through an approval step, and once approved generates a login for the client’s accounting contact. An email is then sent to the contact with a link to log into Client Onboarder and guidance as to what steps to take.

Client

When the client logs in, they begin the Accounting phase and enter information regarding the Accountant, Sites, Personnel, and current MSP. Once completed, this also goes through an approval process where it is checked for completeness and accuracy. Once approved, the process moves onto the MSP phase. A login is generated for the current MSP contact, and that contact is sent an email with the login information.

Current MSP

When the current MSP logs in, they will be presented with a number of different pages to provide details about the client’s infrastructure and applications. These are detailed in the MSP section under Clients in the documentation. On completion, the information is checked for completeness and accuracy and once approved, collection of onboarding information is complete.

Export

Once onboarding is complete, the data is then exported to IT Glue for management of services.

Concluding Notes

During data collection, import of data is supported using CSV files when it is possible to create them from applications where the information is currently stored.

To support this process, there are two additional areas of functionality in Client Onboarder - Organization and Users. Organization is to provide information about your company. Users is where internals users are defined, with roles to allow them to perform different activities in the process as well as managing other users and editing organization information.
